VADODARA: He shot to limelight on Saturday after slamming a double century in the Duleep Trophy finals at Hyderabad and was receiving accolades from all quarters. However, swash-buckling batsman Yusuf Pathan became talk of the town on Sunday evening when the watchman of his under-construction bungalow in Tandalja filed a complaint against three youths.
Yakub Sindhi registered a complaint against the trio for creating ruckus near the Pathan brothers' new bungalow that is coming up in Tandalja area. All the three youths, reportedly aged between 18 and 19 years of age, were held by police. Shortly after the arrest, families of the trio also filed an application at JP Road police station against Sindhi alleging that he beat up the three youths.
According to the police, argument broke out between Sindhi and the boys who were playing cricket near the bungalow. "The youths had some argument with Sindhi and they also threatened him. We arrested them after we received a complaint," said police sub-inspector S Khatana who is investigating the case.
The youths, all residents of Sahkarnagar slums, have been indentified as Sohail Patel, Wasim Sheikh and Mukesh Mali. "I wasn't involved in the incident in any way. My watchman told me that the boys were threatening him and creating ruckus near our bungalow for last one week. So he registered a complaint against them. They are all mischief-mongers and are dragging my name in the incident for no reason," Yusuf told TOI.
Patel's father Ibrahim said, "My son was just playing cricket near the bungalow when the argument happened. He didn't threaten anyone. We have registered an application against Sindhi and Pathan at the police station."
