Before the IPL began one probably hadn't heard the name of Yusuf Abdulla. But the left-arm seamer has become a central figure for Kings XI Punjab in the tournament.
Yusuf Abdulla: The IPL is obviously one of the biggest cricketing events in the world and its definitely a dream come true to be playing in it.
Everyone talks about how the IPL is such a big platform for all the Indian domestic players. But now it's also an equally good platform for foreign players.
Yusuf Abdulla: Yes. I haven't had a lot of international cricket and it's a good opportunity for me to perform and show the world what I can do.
Tell us about your experience of bowling alongside Irfan Pathan who has played for India.
Yusuf Abdulla: If you look at our team, we have a lot of international players. I have enjoyed bowling with Irfan. We work a lot together, not just on the field but even off the field. I go to a jog with him as well.
Any connection with India or Bollywood?
Yusuf Abdulla: Obviously, our owner is Preity Zinta. She is really good to have around. She has been coming with the guys for some time, been around the players. Having her around creates a bond between the players and everyone. So it's been good.
